Most of India’s 75,000 startups are software-related. Dassault Systemes, a French design software company, had to search widely for hardware startups.
Dassault Systemes, a worldwide technology business that provides design, simulation, and product lifecycle management tools to manufacturing, infrastructure, and health sciences, encourages early startup participation.
With its startup engagement programme, the company, which entered India in the late 90s, has supported over 2,000 hardware companies with software. During 2018, its R&D lab, the 3D Experience Lab, has had five cohorts.
“We intend to grow our involvement with the startups in India by over five times,” Suchit Jain, VP – Strategy & Business Development, Dassault Systemes Solidworks told YourStory. Dassault Systemes also collaborates with influencers, students, medical professionals, NITI Aayog, and Shiv Nadar University to promote entrepreneurship.
It offers partner startups variable pricing. Startups get free software for the first year. They receive 75% in the second year and 50% in the third. Dassault Systemes collaborates with startups under five years old and under a million dollars.
