With the daily news of downsizing and company failures, employees live in the constant fear of being unemployed. Apart from the fear of losing your current position, job insecurity also arises from the fear of not getting a suitable alternative. To overcome that fear, be an open LinkedIn networker. Increase your professional online presence. Help colleagues; write recommendations for both present and ex-colleagues. (Of course, only if you know the person really well). Start relevant discussions. Broaden your professional circle from wherever possible for instance colleagues, ex-colleagues, managers, vendors, and clients. Do you need to think twice about the role of contacts in the corporate world? Certainly not!
Hone your skills: It’s time to act! Enroll yourself in the course you always thought will add more credibility to your profile. Attend training, seminars, workshops, etc that can help you sharpen your skills and increase your prowess at work. Increase your work options by putting an edge on your personal and professional skills.
