Shiv Nadar is an Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of HCL Technologies, a leading global technology company. He was born on July 14, 1945, in Tamil Nadu, India.
Shiv Nadar graduated from PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore and went on to complete his Masters in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the United States.
In 1976, Shiv Nadar founded HCL (Hindustan Computers Limited) with a vision to create an Indian IT company that could compete with global giants. Under his leadership, HCL grew to become one of India’s largest IT services companies, with a global presence in over 40 countries.
Apart from his business ventures, Shiv Nadar is also a philanthropist and has been actively involved in promoting education and healthcare in India through the Shiv Nadar Foundation. The foundation runs several educational institutions, including the Shiv Nadar University in Uttar Pradesh, which is recognized as one of the best private universities in India.
