Amazon India announced its partnership with Womennovator on Monday. Womennovator is a global incubator for women entrepreneurs that helps them scale their operations across India and the world. Through this partnership, Amazon India will enable 200 women entrepreneurs to roll out their products on Amazon’s international marketplaces and websites, allowing them to create global brands based in India. 

Companies such as Kidsy Winsy, Vishaala Naturals, Gems & Diamonds, and Bunko Jungo are included in this category, along with a few others. These businesspeople come from a wide variety of product categories, including apparel, beauty products, jewellery, spices, sanitary items, handicrafts, home decorations, and office supplies, among others.

Amazon is going to start incorporating these Womennovator businesses into their e-commerce exports programme called Global Selling over the course of the next twenty-four months. As they take their first steps towards establishing a successful e-commerce exports business, Amazon will provide them with all of the required support as well as tools and technologies. This covers training on listing products, pricing, global logistics, and other topics, all of which are provided at no additional cost. Skill development workshops on the complexities of e-commerce exports are also included in this.

According to a statement released by Bhupen Wakankar, Director of Global Trade for Amazon India, “We are pleased about this association with Womennovator and the potential it has to programmatically aid 200 of their members to develop worldwide brands from India.” By removing the need for a large number of customers from the equation, e-commerce is significantly expanding the pool of potential Indian business owners who can benefit from exporting. As we work towards our objective of enabling $20 billion in total e-commerce exports from India by 2025, our primary priority at Amazon India is to continue to make exporting simpler and more accessible for businesses of all kinds.

The founder of Womennovator, Tripti Singhal Somani, made the following remark in a press release: “Our association with Amazon Global Selling is a huge milestone, and we are pleased to support our women entrepreneurs on their journey towards attaining worldwide success.” Womennovator’s mission is to “empower billions of women by providing them with the essential resources to fulfil their full potential through our signature projects such as the Global Roadshow, Creators Fest, 100 Power Women, and Incubation and Acceleration Program.”

Amazon Global Selling is the premier e-commerce exports programme offered by Amazon. Its purpose is to assist Indian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in launching or growing their online export businesses. 2015 saw the beginning of the program’s rollout in India, with the goal of assisting Indian businesses in expanding their client base by using Amazon’s various foreign websites and marketplaces. It offers a channel via which companies of any size can establish themselves as global brands. More than one lakh exporters from all around India are currently participating in the programme, and they are presenting millions of products made in India to clients in more than two hundred countries and territories around the world. Several of these companies are run by first-generation entrepreneurs and are still in the process of building their brands.

Amazon Global Selling has been seeing amazing growth, and the cumulative sales of Indian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) exporting through the programme have reached $5 billion to this point. Amazon has committed to enabling a cumulative total of $20 billion in exports from India by the year 2025.

Amazon has placed a significant amount of emphasis on the development of a solid infrastructure that would make it possible for businesses of varying sizes to conduct e-commerce exports from India. Amazon is continuing its collaboration with other companies in the same industry, as well as trade groups, government authorities at the state and central levels, and export councils, in order to bring the benefits of e-commerce exports to Indian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
