JioMart is an Indian e-commerce platform launched by Reliance Industries Limited, one of India’s largest conglomerates. It was launched in May 2020 and operates as a subsidiary of Reliance Retail, the retail arm of Reliance Industries.
JioMart is focused on grocery and daily essentials delivery and aims to bring small grocery stores online by enabling them to sell their products through the platform. The platform uses a hyperlocal approach, where products are sourced from nearby stores and delivered to customers in the same locality.
JioMart operates on a business-to-consumer (B2C) model, where customers can place orders through a dedicated mobile app or through the JioMart website. The platform offers a wide range of products, including fruits and vegetables, groceries, dairy products, personal care items, and home care products, among others.
JioMart has been able to leverage the customer base of Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries, and has seen rapid growth since its launch. The platform has expanded to over 200 cities in India and is expected to compete with other major e-commerce players in the country, such as Amazon and Flipkart.
