This project is being carried out as a part of Nestlé India’s Health Sciences division, which deals in the distribution of products connected to nutrition and health.
“Nestlé India has introduced ThickenUp Clear, a food and beverage thickening that is designed to assist people who have trouble swallowing, particularly those who suffer from oropharyngeal dysphagia. It can be given to patients who are having trouble swallowing, which is medically referred to as dysphagia. Some of the disorders that might cause this include head and neck cancer, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease, amongst others. According to the company that makes Maggi noodles and Milkmaid, dysphagia is “a major yet understated health condition that leads to dehydration, malnutrition-led infections, and impaired quality of life.”
Nestlé Health Science is the exclusive customer of the product’s development and production in Osthofen, Germany, which utilises a proprietary manufacturing process.
